Ending in Progress, but just the beginning!
I really should've kept up with the updates but my goal to have this game as complete as I can by the 16th of this month really had me in a chokehold even through my other classes.
To keep it short some features since the last Dev Log include:
A Tutorial Level:
-It was really unfortunate to see people die near instantaneously before they can actually experience the game, I figured a tutorial would help them get a gist of the controls and allow them progress further than they would have otherwise.
NPC Dialogue:
-Along with this tutorial comes NPC dialogue! A long time character of mine is added to the game to help you through the tutorial (will be fully implemented soon)
- Interact with NPC by pressing E
Dash - Adjusted to finally have a cooldown:
-Although spamming dash was not exactly the best thing to do in previous iterations to do, the introduction of a cooldown now allows the implementation of a dash that can now act as an invincible role (implemented soon)
Pseudo Key/Door Shop:
You will now be able to obtain keys to open the cell doors of the prison that will feature various items you will be able to pick up (more power ups coming soon)
New Enemy Type:
-A new enemy that is not hostile to you but still acts as an obstacle to you invertedly.
-Leaves behind a projectile making the dungeon more difficult to navigate
Boss Fight (In progress)
Death's Animations for the fight are done and now it's a matter of implemented the state machine through the animator to truly get this boss going.
Still need to make a Defeat Animation for Death
Currently unkillable but planned to "complete" the game after defeat
A bunch of stuff I want to implement but given the short time frame, my planned features are cut down to these at the moment:
Finishing the Boss Fight
Cutscenes: At least for Death themselves (They deserve it)
Variation through powerups
Items dropping from enemies/crates
Dash Invincibility
Files
Death, The Inevitable
Prototyping a rogue-like game! Updates soon!
